This photo is just for fun because I don't like to post without offering something to look at... I never got around to posting about the things I miss and don't miss about living in Southern California. Maybe I'll do that soon.
In the meantime, here's one thing that I miss and one that I don't: I miss the hillsides covered with fuscia ice plants. This isn't the best example, but hopefully you get the idea. I don't miss the horrendously ugly and smelly rest stops that we had to sometimes visit coming back and forth thru the desert on I-10.
Hey, I also wanted to give you a heads up that I may be out of cyperspace this week. I am going to be helping out at the AMFM Conference in south Tempe from tonight thru Friday at the Arizona Grand Hotel. They were kind enough to pay for a room for me for the week so I don't have to do the 45-60 minute drive back and forth each day. I'm so thankful for that! They offered to let Terry stay too, but then he'd be doing the hour drive back and forth, so he may just come down one night or something.
Anyway, I didn't have a laptop to take with me until just an hour or so ago. We had been talking about getting one and decided it would be good to have one sooner rather than later (early Christmas) so I have somewhere to upload the photos that I'll be taking at the conference. As of right now, the new laptop doesn't have all the software that I need for email, etc. so we'll see what happens when I get down there. I'm taking some of the software to load when I'm there, but not sure how much success or how much time I'll have.
So if you email and I don't respond, you'll know why. Just in case...have a great week!

you guys bought a new computer and its not a mac. You better be careful sharing that kind of info with the Thompsons!
I love that you always post pics. I need to work on that, that's definitely something I wish my blog had, more than words...we don't have a digital camera, though, so it's difficult. But I take tons of pix with my phone, so I do have some :)
Good afternoon!
First off, I promise I’m not spam. I’m with Turner Publishing and we have a new title called “Historic Photos of Phoenix” by local author Eduardo Pagan. This 10x10 gift book is a pictorial narrative of the history of Phoenix told through beautiful, culled-from-the-archives black and white photos, some never before viewed. I’m contacting local bloggers/freelancers because we were wondering if we could send you a complimentary copy for possible review on your blog. Please let me know if you might be interested in this wonderful book of your city! If so, please just email me back with a physical address and I’ll ship one out to you right away. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
Best,
Liz Chenery
